This article will assist government users to add a phone number to their communications and notifications. To set up SMS text message notifications, an account administrator or manager must add the recipient’s phone number to the Communications page. The number must be entered for each permit module where notifications are desired.
Before adding a phone number, confirm that the user has access to their device and can receive SMS messages. The user will need to enter a 6‑digit one‑time password (OTP) to verify the number. All Oxcart text messages will originate from (224) 539‑1655 and appear in a single thread. We recommend saving this number in your contacts.
To get started, hover your Manage menu at the top of your dashboard and select "Communications" from the dropdown menu. Then click the "Add Recipient" button on the right.
A window will open where you can add an existing user’s email address or phone number. Enter the 9‑digit phone number (numbers only) and click "Add Recipient".
The phone number will then display in a new window. Click "Text OTP Verification Code" to send a one‑time passcode.
The phone's owner must retrieve the OTP and enter the 6‑digit code into the text box. Accept the privacy policy and terms by checking the box, then click "Verify".
Once the phone number is successfully verified, a confirmation window will appear. Click "OK", and you can begin assigning notifications to the phone number by checking the appropriate boxes.
