No. When you enter your credit card information to apply for a permit, the card is only pre‑authorized for the total amount of the permit fee, the Oxcart convenience fee, and the credit card processing fees. Your card will not be charged until the permit is approved.
If the permit is denied, the pre‑authorization will be released and your credit card will not be charged. Depending on your bank, the pending authorization may appear on your statement for up to 7 days.
